Most restaurants on Koh samui serve a variety of cuisines, including Thai and international foods. Most guesthouse and resorts have restaurants that serve both, while the more popular beaches, such as Chaweng Beach, feature restaurantsspecializing in Thai or various international cuisines, such as Italian or German. Beachside, seafood barbequerestaurants are also common on all beaches. As on most islands, the food on Koh samui is generally higher priced than on the mainland as there is mark-up on supplies shipped to the island. Where dining options are more limited prices are even more expensive.

Nightspots offerings here vary from a lounge in the bar to disco dancing. You can't expect Pattaya or Bangkok here, but you will certainly not miss excitement if that's what you are looking for. The open-bars beckon for some lazy talks; for pepping up for the big party later, which most all travelers here revel into. The small bars can be found all around samuibut are concentrated in the main nightlife areas of Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut and Big Buddha. After a drink in the bar it's time to head of to some serious nightlife entertainment.
